Our Story

A Legacy of Precision

The South African Benchrest Shooting Federation (SABSF) is the official governing body for the sport of benchrest precision rifle shooting in South Africa. Founded by passionate marksmen committed to advancing precision shooting, the SABSF has grown to represent hundreds of members across nine affiliated regional clubs.

Benchrest shooting represents the pinnacle of accuracy in the shooting sports. The SABSF is affiliated with the International Benchrest Shooters (IBS) and coordinates South African participation in international competitions, bringing world-class precision shooting to the African continent.

The federation operates under the auspices of the South African Sports Shooting Association and is committed to the safe, responsible, and sporting conduct of benchrest competition at all levels.
